Our programme includes the suite of Welsh folk songs arranged for the choir by William Mathias: Y gelynnen; Robin ddiog; Hobed o hilion; Dadl dau a suite of English folk songs arranged by Timothy Salter: O No John; Bonny at morn; A Frog he would a-wooing go a Gershwin Portrait: a medley of his songs arranged by Mac Huff and John Rutter’s arrangement of the spirituals: Joshua fit the battle of Jericho; Steal away; I got a robe; Sometimes I feel like a motherless child; Ev’ry time I feel the spirit; Deep river; When the saints go marching in. Amy Pedwell was awarded the Sir Geraint Evans Prize for an “outstanding vocal recital” as a final year student at the University of Cardiff. A founder member of the Welsh National Youth Opera Amy has achieved considerable success in the Welsh National Eisteddfod. Amy recently graduated from the Birmingham Conservatoire gaining a distinction in Postgraduate Performance. She has just completed a 4 month tour of America and Canada with the Carl Rosa Opera Company. Join us after the concert for complimentary light refreshments |
